A Letter from Wisdom's Founder, Betty Read

Wisdom Eldercare began as a result of my longstanding, personal desire to provide quality, comprehensive services for older adults. Over the years, I worked for both government and not for profit agencies managing programs for older adults. My experience in those environments showed me that the needs of older adults are unique, and that building relationships is essential.

In 1985, I embarked on a path to bring my vision to fruition and Wisdom Eldercare was formed. With a great deal of excitement. I started providing care management services for the clients of bank trust officers and attorneys. In a very short time, the demand for services increased, making it necessary to hire more care managers and office support.

One of the earliest and most important lessons I learned was that although fast growth is financially desirable, it should never be allowed to negatively affect the quality of services. To this day, Wisdom has only taken advantage of opportunities for expansion when we were certain we could maintain our high standards.

Another challenge I encountered was finding caregivers who possessed the level of professionalism we were seeking. After much consideration, we decided we would recruit and train our own caregivers. It was the only way to achieve and maintain the high standards we demanded for our clients. Requests for this service grew rapidly. Thus, Wisdom Home Care Plus was established.

As we progress into the future, we will continue to remain true to our philosophy and values. We will continue to keep the needs of the client paramount. And we will continue to be a family owned and operated company, existing to provide superior professional services that satisfy the most discriminating clients.

We are very proud of our achievements. As we like to say, "We have done well, while doing good for others".
